Thursday’s Ivory Crush Lets Poachers Know U.S. Won’t Tolerate Elephant Slaughter

Elephants that perform in circuses or provide other kinds of entertainment for humans must endure cruel training so their wild spirits can be broken. That process is known as “the crush” and involves many days of what amounts to non-stop torture. This Thursday in Denver, CO, there will be a different kind of “crush”, a literal crush that the U.S. government hopes will actually help elephants worldwide.
